Documentation/Custom Domain Setup

How to Connect Your Custom Domain

A step-by-step guide to replacing your aranly.com subdomain with your own brand's domain.

Why use a custom domain?

Using your own domain (like links.mybrand.com) builds trust with your audience and keeps your brand front and center. It looks professional and increases click-through rates.

1

Prepare Your Domain

You need to own a domain name purchased from a provider like GoDaddy, Namecheap, or Cloudflare. We recommend using a subdomain for your links, such as:

  • links.yourwebsite.com
  • get.yourbrand.com
  • shop.yourstore.com
2

Configure DNS Records

Log in to your domain provider's dashboard and look for "DNS Settings" or "DNS Management". You need to add a new record with the following details:

DNS Record Details

Type
CNAME
Name / Host
links

Or whatever subdomain you chose (e.g. 'shop')

Value / Target
aranly.com
3

Connect & Verify

Once your DNS record is added, go back to your dashboard:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Account.
  2. Scroll down to the Profile Information section.
  3. Enter your full domain (e.g., links.yourwebsite.com) in the Custom Domain field.
  4. Click Save Changes.

After saving, click the button. If your DNS has propagated (which can take text anywhere from a few minutes to 24 hours), it will turn green and say Active.

Troubleshooting

It says "Pending Verification"

DNS changes can take time to travel across the internet. If you just added the record, wait 15 minutes and try clicking Verify again.

"Invalid Domain" Error

Ensure you aren't including "http://" or "https://" in the input field. Just enter the domain name (e.g., links.mysite.com).
